 "My name is Jessica, and I received assistance from The Angel Eyes Foundation. I am currently disabled due to multiple chronic spinal fractures as a result of a rollover car accident, and I only get $1,000 a month. That doesn’t even cover my rent. To say that I am grateful for The Angel Eyes Foundation would be a gross understatement. 

When I finally received my scleral lenses, I was told by my insurance that they would cover it, but they never did. This meant I owed my eye doctor $950 out of my own pocket. I called and fought with my insurance for months, but they refused to help. 

At a follow up appointment, my eye doctor’s billing department told me I wouldn’t be able to have any more appointments or receive any sort of care until that bill was paid. I felt so hopeless and scared because my bank account already goes into the negative every month. They told me if I didn’t pay, it was going to be sent to collections, and I would owe even more money.

 Around this time, I discovered The Angel Eyes Foundation through Ashley on Tiktok. She taught me so much about living with Keratoconus. When she spoke about The Angel Eyes Foundation, I signed up immediately. One day, I received a call from Ashley and who said 

“We will be paying the full $950 for your lenses. may I have the phone number for your eye doctor?”

 I couldn’t hold back my tears. This took such a heavy weight off of my shoulders. Not only is the stress from such a large amount of money looming over me disappearing, but I was also overcome with joy and gratitude at the fact that I could start going to appointments again.

 To The Angel Eyes Foundation, I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart.
